Oil pans are different, on the 4x4's they relocate the oil filter for a reason. It's a b%@&h to get to. I would swap the remote oil filter system over. Other than that its all the same if you have the same year

ok, i have swapped the remote oil filter assembly, replaced the oil pan, but somethings not right.. i have the front diff dropped down and its like the enigne is just too tall...
if i had the engine bolted down on the mm's again the front diff would not come back up in alignment with its bolt holes

i hope i wasn't lied to about the year of the engine.... is there any way to tell by numbers or marks stamped on it??? EDIT: no i do not have the old motor, if the exh mans are different ill have to buy new ones... :/ i do know that is the same style motor, 4.3l v6 vortec, but its like its too tall, i have thought about taking it from a 4wd to a 2wd but not sure how, also don't really wanna f*ck with the front diff. plus i like 4wd. on a side note i have thought about my styer m95 with German armor piercing rounds(on several occasions)
