Default 1999 Blazer Problems

so i have a 99 blazer and the dome lights dont like to shut off. i tired to use the dome override button to the left of the steering column but it just pushes all the way in it does shut them off but then it comes all the way back out when i let go and they come back on so i dont know if its broken or what any suggestions would help or maybe its just something else im not noticing. also there is almost no brake pressure. it stops but you have to push the pedal all the way to the floor. i was gonna have it taken to a shop and checked out but i just wanna know what im looking at before i do. any answers would help out alot. thanks

In case you made the same mistake I made many times, check the dash light adjuster, make sure it is not turned all the way up to keep the dome light on. also, check the door switch, at the end of the instrument panel. Push it in, do the lights go off now?
