1999 chevy blazer LS clicking front drivers side
Okay so today I noticed a loud swishing and clicking sound in my front drivers side tire. It does it while driving slow & fast . But when I'm going fast it is more faint. It also clicks when I am coming to a complete stop and hitting the breaks. It DOES NOT do it while turning or in reverse. Does anyone have any idea what it could be . Any suggestions , please help !
It is 4wd. However it is not in 4wd as it's broken. I had my whole hub assembly changed today. And so far no more clicking. Next week I am having inner and outer tie rods changed and new shocks put in. But earlier today I ran into another problem my truck wouldn't start. And the alternator and starter are fine. It was turning over like it was ready to start. But it just wouldn't budge. After an hour it finally started up and now it has no issue starting right up. Any idea on why it did that ? The weather was pretty crappy today down pouring bad and mixed with snow. It's never happened to me before . My dad said years ago it happened to him once and he never found out what it was cause it just kept starting fine afterwards.
Ok, 4wd, got it. Does not need to be in 4wd mode if the collar that engages the right front wheel to the front axle is not fully disengaged when in 2wd mode.
I assume the right front hub was changed....is this correct? Hopefully it was the wheel bearing within the hub causing the clicking noise.
Not starting when raining is usually the ignition system is getting wet and the electrical energy (spark) has found a new path. Suggest checking condition of coil, coil wire, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor....look for very small cracks in wires, corrosion on rotor, cap. If not Delco parts for cap and rotor, replace them with Delco parts only.
Good luck.
