2 codes P0118A P1118D

Default 2 codes P0118A P1118D

P0118A ECT curcit voltage high, and P1118D ECT curcit high inter.
Idels alittle rough falls on nose until it gets warmed up . it was sergging until hot. changed EGR and now this did I do something wrong I can't find what these codes mean?

P0118 is a fault in the ECT circuit. The ECT is next to the EGR valve and may have been bumped when you replaced the EGR valve. Check the electrical connector on the ECT: The black wire should show less than 5 ohms resistance to ground. The yellow wire should show ~5VDC with the ignition in the RUN position. With the sensor unplugged, resistance between the 2 pins in the sensor should be as follows:


Make sure the 2 wires are firmly attached and making good contact in the sensor. If all this checks OK, replace the ECT sensor. Post your results.

Thanks looking I'm not sure where the ECT is I'm getting a book so maybe it will help me out . I had some help on replaceing the egr so now I have to figure out this myself. I'll report back

got a Chilton manual found ECT it wasn't pluged in got it plug in check engine has gone out things look good runs good sofar. Question will the check engine light come on if gas starts getting in the oil and or come on to let me know there is a problem with the injectors?

Indirectly, yes.. Sensors will warn if you have gas in your oil. Your nose would do the same, probably sooner.
