Have to figure out if it's losing fuel pressure or ignition. Easier to watch fuel pressure... might have taken the tester back too soon

I had a feeling I'd be taking it back too soon but figured what better test than to go take it back.

After I posted that I sat in the truck for maybe another 30 seconds, cycled the ignition a few times to see if I could hear the fuel pump prime at all and couldn't, but it was also loud outside.

I wiggled the key around in the ignition wondering if maybe it's this passkey I have done some reading about, and also hit the unlock button on the driver's door module.

After doing that the truck started up fine.

I am wondering if the truck is having some kind of security issue as well.

I only have the key, no remote. I know the truck is set up for a remote because I went to Chevy and asked them. I'm wondering if some how the fact that I'm opening the door manually with the key every time is screwing with the security system.

Right now I'm kind of at a loss and going to do some searching around the forum and see what I can find, then call it a night.

Is the security light on when it won't start?

When the truck wouldn't start in the Auto Zone parking lot, I was conscious enough to look for a security light. At that point it was flashing, and I do believe I had the key in the ignition, took it out, hit unlock, then started the truck.

I also had opened the door a few times to try to listen to the fuel pump priming.

problem solved?

check my post, now I suspect I didn't need a new fuel pump. the problem might be the venting system.
