2000 Blazer fuel issue?
I know this topic has been discussed before but i just wanted to post my problem. So this is the problem i am having....My blazer decides to not start when it wants. i got a fuel pressure gauge and hooked it up and turned the key on....pump hums and gauge reads 58PSI..turn to start and click click click battery dead. I then take the time to charge the battery up. turn key pump hums..reads 60 PSI...pump clicks off reads 52 PSI. I turn the key and the truck starts. While running the pressure reads 53 to 54 PSI. Turn off truck gauge goes to 60 then to 54 when the pump shuts down. I also relieved pressure to 10 PSI with truck off and waited the 10 but more like 15 min. Went down to 9 maybe 8.5 PSI...so after reading the posts on here and reading through my haynes manual i am at a standstill. Any Info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The problem is that even when the battery is charged..there are unexpected moments when you can sit there and crank away till battery dies and it wont fire. sounds like it wants to...putters a little bit then dies. i have a cold air intake on it and sometimes when i cant get it to start and it putters i see white smoke from the intake just wanted an insight on what this could be. I asked local shops and get...its the fuel pump... check valve..we change them all the time. the only thing is that when it runs it runs great only thing i see wrong with the unit is that is gives an erratic gauge reading on the dash.
