2000 blazer ls 4x4 vaccum problem
on the driver side under the hood in front of the brake booster there are 3 vaccum lines connected together with a little plastic T piece one goes into the harness into the firewall the other one goes towards the passenger side and the other one is broken off and i have no clue where it connects to. my ac doesnt work well when i accelerate from a red light when i let off the gas it starts working fine. any idea where that vaccum goes????
Firewall one goes to your heater controls, heading for the passenger side goes to 4WD actuator. The broken one goes to a vacuum reservoir ball inside your drivers side fender. Block the broken T for now (it'll improve things a little) and if you fish through the hole in the inner fender with a wire and hook maybe you can retrieve the rubber hose. They must install that ball before the fender is on the truck.
i plugged it for now but i will just go ahead and take the fender off and find it bc the vaccum that was on it was dry rotted and i replaced them but thank you i will deff get it fixed. o yea and sometimes my front passenger cv axle makes a roaring noise but when i stop at a light and put it from 2 to 4 then back to 2 wheel it will stop but when i take off fast the noise will come back. would that be caused by the broken vaccum also???
I can see a vacuum leak causing problems in 4WD, but in 2WD no..... It shouldn't be trying to engage the axle. (I'm assuming the noise you hear is a partially engaged axle or one engaging/disengaging with changing vacuum levels). You *may* have a problem with something sticking the front axle vacuum solenoid holding it open. First thing is to fix the vacuum line but you can try this: At the top of the firewall towards the drivers side of center a bit you'll see the solenoid - it has 2 vacuum lines (the line we want goes to the T-fitting you're working with) and an electrical plug with 2 wires plugged into it. Pull off the vacuum line going towards the drivers fender. Plug it with a small screw. See if your noises go away. If they don't reconnect the line and do the button pushing dance to make it go away. (and start a new thread about a new problem)
