Hey, I'm new here, I just bought a 2000 Blazer.
Is there any way to improve the mileage? I currently get around 18mpg. It's a 5spd manual. I change at 2k revs and keep the revs low by using higher gears. I use 87 gas. Any other tips you would recommend?
I like this car but man, compared to my old accord this thing wants gaaaaaas!

You know a Blazer weighs ~1/3 more than an Accord, right? You're getting about average mileage on it right now. Do a complete tune-up(distributor cap & rotor, plugs, plug wires, fuel filter), run Techron Concentrate Plus through a tank of gas, see what happens.

man... i wish i avg 18mpg.
i do mix city and highway and avg 15mpg on a good day.
try keeping cargo to min.
remove roof rack...if you have one.
...tune up, as rriddle3 mentioned.
fuel filter...air filter.
i think unless you are strictly highway, you might have peak mpg.
**********I DON'T RECOMMEND***********
drafting semi trailers on highway....just saying

I have a 200 LS w/ 4.3 4x4. I was getting around 20 this summer and happy a a lark, then it started to drop to about 17 - 18. No changes in anything. Then I realized that it was getting nearer to the winter when they put the 10% ethenol (i think) and that will cut the mileage. So now I am keeping track of the mileage and trust it is going to start going up. Went to replace the plugs when mileage dropped and could only find 3 of the 6 wires, so I said flush it and to it into the mechanic. Just as well they also found a cracked distributer cap. How I yearn for the old days when I could stand in the engine compartment of my truck with my feet on the ground.
