Some thing very strange is going on here. Finally have the tester. Hooked it up to the front of the fuel filter and it goes up to 40 psi turn the key off jumps up to 55. Plus when I push the button to purge the gauge the needle starts going up again. If I hold it open I can see gas flowing (not much) but just enough to make the needle start going up a few psi. Thinking fuel filter. But why would it jump up to a higher psi when I turn the key off? And the test at the motor is 20 psi and drops fast. I almost hear gurgling noises when the key is turn on then off.I may have a few things going on here. Fuel filter for one. I'm going to buy one today then retest it there.

No that would be the fuel pump. It is not meeting the minimum required pressure. Not even close. The filter will have nothing to do with the Max pressure even if it is partially clogged. Pressure will build to its maximum no matter what restriction there is if there is any opening at all. the fluctuations may have something to do with it being partially clogged but the pressure will not be affected. Pump is bad.

The injector assembly is the old style, and it is used. The pump is probably an "offshore" POS, boxed in the USA. Both are junk, stay away, total waste of money.

The injector is Delphi # FJ10565 or AC Delco # 217- 3028, in a pinch BWD 63885.

Fuel pump needs to be one of these, and it MUST be Genuine, NOT a knock off.

AC Delco # MU1733 or Delphi # FG0052

Check Amazon, Ebay, Rock auto.com

Thanks Captain Hook for the make and brand info. One more I would change the fuel regulator. What be the best brand for that? Now for the easy part labor. I say it in that way cause my Dad always told me is you know what a problem is? Not knowing the answer. Once you know the answer it is not a problem no more. The problem is getting er done.......

Just to give you a time frame be about a week before I will be giving more info.
