Exclamation 2000 Chevy Blazer not starting

Hey guys I am back with another problem. So I have been looking on here for the last 2 hours doing research and viewing other peoples problems and symptoms. I feel that I have a fuel pump that has week psi.I was not able to start it this morning so my wife could leave for work. I stayed home to fix the car. I got it to start with out touching any thing except my key in the ignition. Here is my question. You know when you change the fuel filter you have to prime the system. Turn the key right before you start the car and turn it back off and you do this 4-10 times. Would it work for me doing that every time I star the car to get it to fire. The car cranks over it just cant get the extra push so thats why I feel its the pump. I think I am going to advance auto parts and getting a new fuel filter or at this time do you think it would be a bad idea. I have all day to do this but I cant skip another day of work there are no more Saturdays to work this week lol. Our store is closed on Sunday so I cant make it up that day. So what do you think would it do more damage right now then good. Why I am thinking about replacing the fuel filter is my car has 100,660 on it and its time. But would it make my stating problem worse since I lose all the psi and have to prime the pump or would it do some good and might make it easier to start. Any ideas will help. The other problem is I dont have the freaking 261 dollars for the pump.

sounds like a fuel pump problem to me . you need to check the fuel pressure with a gauge. you can probaly borrow one from advance auto. you should have between 60-66 psi with the key turned on. or you could have a fuel pressure regulator leaking under the intake causing the fuel system to loose it's prime.

That would be nice if it was the fuel pressure regulator since that is just a 50 dollar part. Any other ideas guys and Should I wait to find out about the problem before I replace the fuel filter

Ok guys I am confused so here is a update on the problem. I got the car to start this morning about 8:45. I just went out to start it at 10:30am. Turned the key 3 times and started. What dose that tell you. I dont know anything about fuel systems but my guess sounds like that franklin might be right on the fuel pressure regulator. I hope thats the problem becasue I would rather pay 50 bucks the 260. So how do i set up a fuel pressure gauge. I am new at this fuel system stuff.
