Post Need Help & suggestions, having prob with my 2000 chevy blazer 4x4 starting

Hello, ok so im having a problem with my 2000 Chevy Blazer 4x4 (2dr, black) with 130,000 miles. Anyhow when I bought the vehicle the high beams only worked, so in order for it to pass inspection we had to fix the headlights. So my dad re-wired the lights so they would work (because there was some old fog lights attached that were not working anyway) so anyway he hooked up the headlights, and less than 3 days later. when the headlights were hooked up, when driving and when the transmission was shifting gears (automatic transmission) it didnt shift. Problem was the re-wiring to hook up the main headlights seemed to have all burnt out (the wiring and computer got burnt), so my dad re-wired and replaced the wiring system (with new wires) and got a new used computer for the wires to hook up to, and now it wont start. It try's to turn over when you try to start it, but it wont start the engine. We are trying to figure out what else could be the problem, and why it wont start now after he's replaced all of the wiring and computer harness system that the wires hooked up to, and Im trying to get this fixed ASAP, Please HELP, i really need to get this taken care of, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated it, please. Thanks Missy

Optional Information:
Year : 2000
Make : Chevrolet
Make (other) : Blazer
Model : 4x4

Already Tried:
replaced the burnt out wiring with new wires and replaced the computer the wires hooked up to with a new used computer system. and now it wont start, it started before and now after all the work was done it wont start, it tries but for some reason it wont turn over and start.

Is it possible that if the blazer has the factory security system . The used computer doesnt mate with the key. I recall seeing some thing along that line on another post on here . Just something to ask

The high beam only working was probably due to the light switch. Changing the wiring sounds like it caused the problem in that something must have been incorrect.

Suggest taking re-wiring out and get back to a base....vehicle running, but no low beams and then fix the switch.

Good luck....sounds like alot of work.
