Okay so I just bought a 2000 GMC Jimmy 2 door 4x4. The motor blew on the previous owner he pulled it and sold the truck to me without a motor. Leaving me a good reason to put in a SBC. I really would like to drop in a 350 vortec or atleast a fuel injected 350. What is the easiest way to go about doing a swap. I am sure there is a lot of useful information on this site and others. Ive been searching for awhile but would like some definite answers. I want to keep the 4wd and eventually put in a suspension lift on it. Body and interior are in great shape on this thing!
Is there a plug and play harness for the 4.3 to 350 swap?
Is the 350 vortec going to be my easiest swap for the jimmy?
Who makes the cheapest set of headers?
Is there a complete kit that I can buy for the 2000 with harness, headers, oilpan, etc?
What should I do as far as fuel pump goes?
Also what are my options as far as trannys? I would really like to do a 5spd while keeping 4wd.
And last what should I expect to pay to get this thing completely finished and driveable assuming I already have a motor for it.

When I was researching this quite a few years ago, there was no kit put together that covered everything for this application.
For the electronics, you can get your PCM tuned to the V8 tune. You will need to get the SCFI maxi plug from the donor vehicle along with at least 4 of the wires that go from the maxi plug to the PCM.
JagsthatRun.com literally wrote the book on this and they may have updated it to include the newer stuff.
There is also a website that I have posted about before detailing this very build on, I believe, a 2000 s10.
