Default 2000 LT fuel gauge only shows empty or full

My 2000 blazer the fuel gauge works on full and then empty. I’m going on a long hunting trip here soon and need to get this fixed I have been going by mileage and I have been filling up once I get to 220 miles and that just seems like not that good of a range.

Any help is greatly appreciated. And does this forum have a Mobile app?

Thanks

The sending unit is probably at fault, this is a very common issue with the s series suvs/trucks. It requires replacing the sending unit inside the gas tank. If it was my vehicle I'd put in a new fuel pump with it as they often go bad also.

The fuel pump is inside the sending unit, but both parts can be replaced individually if you choose.

Not sure if you got your issues solved but I must have jinxed myself posting on this one. My fuel pump died 70 miles from home this last week. It was an original sending unit and pump with near 200k on it. I'm putting in a new acdelco unit today... was $155 delivered from rockauto.
