Default 2000 No start

Wouldn't you know it, I stopped in to my Autozone today to pick up a part. I get back outside and attempt to start my Blazer up and it doesn't start. So I call my buddy up and he comes over and whacks the bottom of the fuel tank while I attempt to start it. Wouldn't you know, it started!
He use to work at a Chevy dealer and has seen this many times. He could get it to restart by whacking the bottom of the tank. So, almost $300 later, I walk back out of the same store with a new pump. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to work on this.

Anyone know of an easy way to drain the fuel tank prior to dropping it? I know on the Bonnevilles, you can disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail, apply 12V to the test line and run the pump manually. Anything similar to the Blazers?

If you can get the pump to run, you can pull the filter and then jumper across the relay to power the pump. Just make sure you have some way of turning it off as your container gets full. And remember, no sparks!

I pump it out - Jumping fuel pump relay- whack on the tank and using an old r-12 a/c refrigerant hoses-(same connection and threads and depressor) attached to the fuel pressure test port- I feed the other end into my truck's gas tank- so that I have plenty of room in the "container" for gas..Takes about 20 minutes to get over a half tank out...

Just finished putting the new one in. Broke one small strap, the little clip for the other strap and that was it. Went to dealer and they had the parts needed, around $15. About 3 hours start to finish.
