Default 2000 S10 Fan Clutch

Just test drove a 2000 S10 Blazer, It seems like a lot of roar out of the fan clutch when first taking off like from a stop light. Is this normal?

I have a 99 blazer... It used to roar on take off caused by fan and clutch. . I just replaced both.,noticed bearings were shot on fan clutch.... Dosent roar anymore quiet take off... No more vibration set a glass of water on dash and barely shakes...hope this helps u out

I would say that the roar is 'not normal'. I went to a lot of trouble to rent the 36mm wrench and replaced the original loud roaring fan clutch on my 2003 with a new Murray fan clutch from O'Reilly's Auto parts. It roars as well!? Now I say it is defective out of the box and the store parts guy says it is : 'Normal'.
