If so, simple fix....replace the vacuum (red) line between the T and the solenoid.

Of course the next test will be if the solenoid switches and provides a vacuum to the cable actuator under the battery tray.....
Lanny, that is what I am saying. I have been trying to follow the vacuum line from that T to the solenoid, to see what is between those two points that could be the reason for no vacuum or if the line is broken. I have had a difficult time following that hose so far... I have considered just running a jumper line from the T direct to the solenoid to see what happens. As for the solenoid itself, I have installed a new one already... so I am hoping/assuming it's good once vacuum is supplied to it.

Captain, the fuses are good, and I have checked the switch plug with meter to insure it is getting curent and working. So I think I have eliminated this possibility.
Thanks to everyone for replying... all input has been helpful in working through this.

I tried it without the fuse and it works perfectly now.

I had hooked it up to the 4WD fuse, adding the load of it to the load the fuse was already handling. I'll put an inline fuse in later.

I checked the solenoid with an ohm meter - 72 ohms. No measurable amperage even when it was engaged.
