2001 Blazer ABS light
I have a 2001 Blazer LS, 4 door. Last week my ABS light came on. Not a problem with that. The problem is the light will go on and off. When the light goes off the anti-lock brake system pops the brake pedal up. When this happens it is so hard to get the brake pedal back down. It started last week when our weather was in the single digits about 2 degrees to 8 degrees. So we are thinking it may have something to do with that. It was getting better. I drove about 2 miles tonight with it and it happened about 5-6 times, really had a hard time getting the pedal down. The temperature is about 55 degrees and rainy. I live in PA, so that is why the weather is constantly changing. Does it have something to do with cold and moisture? Or is it a sensor? Can anyone help me? Thank you, in advance!!

Disconnect the electrical connections underneath the antilock module in the engine compartment. This will disable the antilock portion of the brakes and allow you to brake without the system pushing back on the pedal.the light will stay on,but the brakes will work better than ever, just no antilock. You can have the system diagnosed with a high end scan tool, but the most common problem causing the antilock issues is the speed sensors located in both front wheel bearings going bad.
