Default 2001 blazer is shaking bad....

ok.. I was driving my blazer (2001 2 door 4x4) today when the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light stated blinking.. It blinks randomly.. When I come to a complete stop my RPMs are lower than average and the engine vibrates the whole vehicle. I also smell something. Idk what it is or how to explain it. I also noticed that my lights(interior and dash) were diming slightly.... I turned the vehicle off for a bit and stated it and it idoled fine..like normal.. Then I drove it a bit more and it did the same thing all over again... Help me out please. Thanks

First, stop by AutoZone and have them read the SES light code. I would bet it comes back with P0300 if not some others, too. Come back to this thread and let us know what you found.

Misfire code? that'd make sense. Maybe bad plugs, wires, cap, rotor...
We had that issue on our 300ZX, so we replaced the cap, rotor, plugs and wires. No more shaking.

A blinking SES light means it was misfiring bad enough to harm the cat converter. That's not good. Like mentioned, get the code read and we can go from there.
