2001 Blazer Stuck in Reverse
I was backing my 2001 blazer out of my garage to put into the driveway and went all the way into the road. I tried putting it into drive to pull back into the driveway and straighten myself out, but it turns out it had only shifted into neutral. I thought I had gone to drive, but thinking I was mistaken, I attempted to shift to drive again, but the shifter went all the way to the bottom. In a panic, I tried shifting all the way back to park, but it only went back to reverse. The shifter is located on the steering column and freely moves the entire run, but does not shift any gears. I turned it off and now it doesn't turn back on cause it is stuck in reverse gear. Where do I start diagnosing this? (I did manage to get it back into the driveway with some neighbor's help and the wheels are blocked )
Thanks in advance!

So, some things came up and it took me a bit to get back to this. But it was indeed that the linkage had come loose. Does anyone have a diagram as to how this works? Is there a nut or something that holds the linkage on? I thought I had it fixed, just pushing on, but it came off again.
