Key stuck in Reverse/Accessory- Help!!
I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer. The ignition key is stuck in the reverse/accessory position. Meaning the key is stuck all the way in the backwards position in the ignition. Just like you want to listen to the radio only. The key will not come out.
I have tried to find the so called "plug" that you can remove that I have heard about to push in and remove the key, but I cannot find that. They key is stuck, and wont budge at all.
I have unplugged the black box and checked the position of the key and to see if the dash lights up, and the black box works. I have also tried to jump power to the lock up in the cylinder switch, but that does not work.
I know how to get the key cylinder out- You have to remove the airbag and all that stuff to get th the screws to take the cylinder out.
The problem is, the steering wheel is locked in place and I cannot get the key to move. Therefore, I cannot rotate the wheel to get to the bolts for the airbag.
What are other ways that I can get the thing out besides destroying the whole column or replacing it with a junkyard one?
thank you.

You will have to remove the trim panels from the steering column (clam shell).
Then use an allen wrench or other solid object to fit into a hole that will release the cylinder lock...you may be able to remove the key then...I have some pics...

RE: Key stuck in Reverse/Accessory- Help!!
Have you tried wiggling the steering wheel vigorously back and forth while trying to turn the key? 9 times out of 10 when the key is stuck it's the steering column trying to turn and loading up the lock connection...so enough wiggling gets the key loose.
