Default 2001 chevy blazer lt ac replacement help

I have recently bought a used 2001 chevy blazer lt, no compressor for the ac and the refrigerant lines that run from the back of the dash to the evaporator are damaged. I have found a used compressor for $100, how hard is it to install the compressor and replace the refrigerant lines myself to save money?

That sounds like a scary situation to me! You don't know what's still in the system - most likely remnants of the missing compressor... You definitely are going to want to flush the system well, whether it be you or the shop. Replacing the compressor wouldn't be too hard, just make sure the recommended amount and proper type of oil is in there and bolt it in, attach the wires and lines, etc... The evaporator damage is quite a bit more work. I'm pretty sure one has to remove the fender to replace that. Pictures are going to help those more knowledgable than myself give you a more detailed answer...

Do some shopping around... These compressors are known to be belly leakers!! And $100 for a used one???? Don't waste your time...I managed to find a reman four seasons still in factory packaging for $95.00 to my door!!!! my suggestion is search eBay or Amazon, u can find deals out there .....I also got my accumulator (ac delco) for $22 shipped as well.......whatever u do, do not skimp and purchase used parts sometimes it's ok but when we are talking about A/c different story.... And as far as replacing these parts, it's not hard , just be sure to have the system flushed ......oh, and btw replace all of the orings in the system
