2001 fuel pump price
Wow, sticker shock. 650 at the dealer for a delco pump, 275 at a jobber shop and 65 bucks on ebay. Is the jobber unit and ebay the same. Dealer said the oem gm pump would be more than the delco unit.
How bad are the ebay pumps? I have never changed an in tank pump before but am confident I can handle it. I don't want to bring it to the dealer because the truck is at home and I have a garage to work in.
Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks
Kevin

As we have discussed many times here, almost any aftermarket, off-brand pump will crap out a lot sooner than AC/Delco or Delphi pump will. Pay me now, or pay me later situation.

I saw those cheapies too when I had to change mine over the summer. Look at it this way. What's stored in the gas tank? Where's the fuel pump? What make the pump work? What makes gas blow up?

A seller out of Arkansas on Ebat sells the Delphi pump, which is the GM OEM for $230.00. This pump has the revisions that correct some of the original design vulnerabilities. Note that you will have to cut wires where the fuel pump connects to install the Delphi pump- the new connectors are part of the update, it is easy but important to mention.
