I've got a 1996 4wd 4dr 4.3L Blazer. My buddy just pulled the 4.3L out of his 2002 2wd S-10 and put in a 350. What hurdles will I run into if I put the 02 4.3 into my 96 Blazer?
Just to clarify, my blazer is in great shape but has 160k on the clock. The motor ticks (I'm pretty sure it's a valve), minor oil leak from the front seal, oil pressure sits ~20psi at idle and doesn't have the "pep" it used to. His motor has 70k on it and had no issues when he pulled it. I can pick it up for $100.

While the motor is out, tap the block out for 1/4" NPT to match up with your knock sensor.
If the '02 doesn't have provisions for an EGR valve, you will have to reuse your lower intake manifold, but I would recommend using the injection system from the '02.
If the '02 does have an EGR valve, you will need to drill/tap the lower intake manifold in the area of the t-stat for the coolant temp sensor.

Well I just picked up the motor, trans, alternator, power steering pump, A/C compressor, air box, MAF, injection system, distributor, starter, hoses, water pump, fan, cruise control, pulley assembly and some other misc stuff for.........................
$150.
Would it be easier to use this trans with the motor, or will it not work because it's from a 2wd truck? I've read that the 96 bellhousing bolts are standard while the 02 bellhousing bolts are metric. True?
Because I got the motor with all of the sensors, I will just be able to plug the knock sensor into the existing 96 harness? If the plug is different, I'll just be able to splice the connector without issue, right?
