Default 2002 Blazer 2d Sport LS couple problems HELP!

Hey,

I bought a 2002 chevy blazer the 2 door sport version and have a couple issues I need to get fixed and don't know where to go.. the first is the door hinge I believe on the driver door. When I open it, will kind of fall down a bit and I think I saw I need to get the hinges replaced..?

2nd issue. The rear hatch doesn't open.. I will try from the inside and on the keys and also from the outside it won't work..

3rd issue. The alignment I think is the issue. It will steer but pull to the left so I will be driving and to go straight I have the weight turned to the left..

Let me know I am new to cars and bought this for my son and wan't to get it nice for him..

Thanks for any help guys!

Welcome!!

1. You don't need to replace the hinges or at least pray you don't. You need to replace the door hinge pins and bushings. You will only need to do some work to the hinge if the pins have been left too long and ovaled out the holes on the hinge. Do a search there are many threads on how to do this.

2. My hatch does not have a key. It has a power lock and can't be opened from the inside at all. If yours won't open it is either the lock or the hatch handle.

3. It could be anything making it pull to the left it may just be out of alignment but chances are you need some front end work too. These things eat the lower ball joints and I have also replaced the pitman and idler arms with only 113,000 miles. Your best bet is to take it in for an alignment, to a shop you trust, and they will tell you if you need any other front end parts. If you are new to cars the front end isn't a good place to start learning.

1. ok I will search for this on here thanks!

2. the power lock will make the noise for the back hatch but when I go to open it doesn't open so it is locked? or the handle is this cheap easy to fix?

3. yeah it drives great just have to keep it a little left to get it straight any way to check this I am nervous because most shops will try to rip you off seems to always be the issue lol

on the back hatch issue take off the panel on the back hatch an you can manually move the rod for the handle, and yes thats an easy an cheap fix

and the pulling problem if its not an allignment issue it could be the steering linkage wearing out or is broken.

but good luck with everything

Ok here is the picture of the front door, not sure if it is the bushings or the whole hatch I have to replace. When i lift the door up the whole car will move as well not just the door... .Thanks for the help on everything!

I will guarantee your problem originated with the hinge pins and bushings but how much damage was done from not fixing them sooner is anyone's guess until you have it apart. I have done mine twice now. Now I try to grease them often to keep the rust and wear down.
