2002 New fuel pump will not work??????

Ummm well, you do it your way, I'll do it mine. And no, a Simpson isnt a good idea, either. Impedance too high even on it.

I'm just saying 12v through a one meg resistance reads 12v on a cheap dvm.

Thanks guys for your help... I am going to follow swartlkk's advice on this....

I borrowed a friends scanner and codes p1637 and p1638 came up...

what exactly do these codes mean?

Apparently it thinks your alternator has a problem

Thanks.... now just reaching.... could this make the fuel pump not work?

I've got an old style volt meter. Even has the old bake-lite housing around it! Too bad it only reads up to 7.5V... LOL

I agree with the "you do it your way and i will do it mine." Like I said, I know how my luck goes. In my line of work we cant afford an "oops! I should have used the other meter!" mistake. I just take that attitude home with me.

I love the old school test equipment like Swartlkk has. I still have a vacuum tube O-scope I use occasionally. Heck, I work at the FAA. We have some equipment that still says "Property of CAA" Google THAT and you will appreciate how old it is!

As I was going to do the ground test, had my wife to the key to check for power at the pump again also.... battery is totally dead...... charged it and it is not keeping a charge at all..... so off to the store to get another one.....

If it is not one thing it is another

Heh.. had one like that.. Made it into a homemade 'scan tool' {ie Dwell meter}

for my..



Man.. how cool! Now I could adjust the points while engine was running!!!!
