2003 Blazer AutoStart Passlock problem - turns over, no start
Brief background.
2003 Blazer 4-wheel-drive 4-door.
In an effort to solve a constantly clicking turn signal relay, I opened up the steering column, removed the multifunction switch, cleaned it, reinstalled it and put everything back together.
Mixed results on the relay - will save for another post.
But now when I try to remote start with AutoStart, the engine turns over, fire, then shuts down. A little research leads me to believe the Passlock system is shutting down the fuel.
All other AutoStart functions work (lock, unlock, etc) -- just no remote start.
I called AutoStart tech support. First guy told me to program the tach. I did that, with no change in results.
Second call got another guy who told me it was the data bypass module or Passlock. Told me to locate the module, disconnect it, reconnect it, and start the Blazer with the key.
I looked around under the dash and I think I can see the module near the top of the dash space, buried in a whack of wires. Inaccessible without hours of work.
Has anyone run into this before and come up with a solution? I suspect it has something to do with disconnecting the battery to do the multifunction switch work, but I hate to think I'm going to have to take it to the shop every time I disconnect the battery?
Could I have done something to/on the steering column.
Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

The passlock sensor connects to the ignition lock cylinder and is part of the ignition switch harness. Check out the links below for some pictures & explanations:

Thank you very much for your reply and suggestions.
I went looking for the bypass under my dash last night. I could see the autostart module crammed way up in a corner with another module behind it.
Spent quite a bit of time digging them out only to find the other module wasn't the bypass.
After much more looking I was rewarded with feeling like a fool when I shifted my position and found it. I was working from the driver's side... the module was tucked up tight against a bundle of wires on the passenger/right side of the steering column. Pretty much right in front of me the whole time -- if I had known where to look.
The connector on the module had slipped half off. The connection is fairly loose. Just had to reconnect, start the Blazer with the key, wait a minute, shut it down, and now everything works fine.
Thanks again for the advice. Just inherited the Blazer a short while ago, but learning LOTS on this forum. Hope to be a contributor soon.
