So I was wondering, whats the best viscosity oil to use in my 2004 blazer. I cant remember if its 5 W 30 or 10 W 30. What do you guys suggest? I live in Buffalo NY btw, if this gives you some insight into the climate I drive in.

I see you've been a member since 2007. I know it's just me, but I dont understand why someone who has that enthusiasm for his car to join a group doesnt actually READ the issues that come up. This is asked over and over again.
Use the 5w 30 called for by the mfr, unless your owner manual calls for 5w20, then use that.
If you dont have one, download it here:

My rule of thumb - Assuming fresh oil and filter change:
If you dont reach peak oil pressure point on your gauge at 1500 rpm or less, once the engine is warmed {~ 195 deg} go up a grade. 5w whatever is always good unless it doesnt go to peak pressure when it is first started, engine cold and 750 -1000 rpm. Then go 10w.

Listen, it was a simple question, If you don't care to deal with my "stupid question" then don't reply next time. There's no need to have an attitude about it.

Doesn't the oil filler tube cap have the oil viscosity and rating on it.
Hold on, I'm gonna look.

Yep, it's on the cap.
My '01 says 5w30.
