There was a fellow on another forum who did exactly what you are thinking about and documented it extremely well. Unfortunately, that forum no longer exists, thus no longer does his thread.

Sorry I can't be of more help but it is very possible and doable.

thank u ya i have a bagged 4 dr and wanna move the fuel tank so i can drag a little safer than now but if u come across something plz keep me in mind thanks again
