Default 3" Flowmaster muffler on stock exhaust pipes

Hey, so Ive had this 3" in and out Flowmaster sitting in my garage for months. Curious about putting it on my stock 2000 Blazer ZR2 2.25" pipes but weary of losing the necessary backpressure for optimal engine performance, as well as sounding like a wet fart. Is this worth the effort putting on or should i just sell it and get a 2.25" muffler?
Sorry for the dumb question, but don't have much experience with exhaust systems.
Thanks!

I put a Flowmaster muffer onto my '02 probably a good 5 years ago. Sound wise is not the best, but I did it as the original muffler is so large and hangs low. The Flowmaster is probably half the size and tucked-up by the frame so as very little is seen from the side.

I did use a 2.25" inlet/outlet though since I was buying a new one. I did not notice any difference in performance with the Flowmaster, no idea if your 3" inlet/outlet will affect performance.

Good luck.
