1998 4 door Blazer. Just a minor question really. Friend was trailing me a few days ago and told me he thought my 3rd brake light was out. Later that day I went home and had someone step on the brake and the light does indeed work. It however doesnt seem to be quite as bright as it use to be. My question is do these things dim after time. I have heard them referred to as LED bulds. I can see the light working if I stand up close on the vehicle but if I am a distance away and its not nighttime, it appears its not lit.

 

Sounds like a bad earth LED's do not dim out they either work or do not.

Check the cable from the unit to where it enters the roof lining it may have a break in the wire causing the light to be dim
