3rd brake light not working but fuses are good

Default 3rd brake light not working but fuses are good

3rd brake light stopped working and the fuses are good, I think I read somewhere there is a resistor that goes bad????

Its a sealed unit so you'll have to replace the entire assembly.

I found a broken wire where it passes through the body. Ground wire if I remember right, which I guess would explain why the fuse didn't blow

I got my 3rd brake light working again combo of bad wires (stretched) and blown diode. replace the diode with 3 amp diode and salvaged the wires and back working again.

Wrong. I replaced just the led strip in mine and it works perfect. The best part is a guy I know from another s-series bb sent it to me for nothing!

Its normally not a servicable part, but like you said it can be fixed.

Personally for $40 I'd just replace it and be done with it.
