Recently resolved my problem of "no start" by replacing the spider. I've had my 95 Blazer for over thirteen years and when purchased it had 59k on it. The first spider went out at 100K and this last one failed at 190K. Unfortunately the warranty doesn't help but I've been told that this is a common problem for Chevy's poppet type injection system.

Actually the symptoms of the first spider I replaced, at 100K, was stalling intermittently, usually at a stop sign. Now the second spider (190K) simply quit and wouldn't allow the truck to run at all.

I'm under the impression that at around 274,000 miles it would be a good time to change the injector unit. I got one with this mileage and it was running fine untill I let it sit for weeks at a time or maybe it was on it's way out anyway. If it ain't broken, don't fix it! I have an injector unit from a blown engine I bought for parts over a year ago. Don't know how many miles it has or if it's good. But, before I spend another $400 I'll try and see if it works.

It depends what year and fuel injection system you have. If your pressure is 55 to 60, it's fine only if you have CMFI. If you have CSFI, it's too low.
Up to and including most of 1995 has CMFI: Key On engine OFF, fuel pump running, fuel pressure must be 55psi to 61psi and must remain above 50psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off. CMFI uses one injector and the injector upgrade does not apply.

Some late 1995 and all 96 & newer have CSFI: Key On engine OFF, fuel pump running, fuel pressure must be 60psi to 66psi and must remain above 55psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off. CSFI uses 6 centrally located injectors and the upgrade improves both fuel economy and performance.

The regulator is downstream of the injectors on both systems and regulates fuel pressure depending on intake manifold vacuum: Low vacuum=high fuel pressure. High vacuum=low fuel pressure. GM does not publish any "engine running" fuel pressure specs for CMFI or CSFI systems, all pressure tests are done with the engine off.

I was coming back from a trip one time and my 95 blazer would not do over 65 mph, I held it to the floor and it just wouldnt do it. I could smell raw gas and the truck would carry on and throw out codes. The cat was clogged.
