Default 4.3 Vortec...need info

I'm considering purchase of a really sweet '67 Chevy stepside that's been modified with a 4.3L Vortec V6 w/central port injection.

Can anybody tell me anything about this engine? I read somewhere about the fuel injection developing leaks being a pretty common problem.

What else you guys know?

I have a 95 Blazer with a 4.3 vortec and there notorious for the "spider" as they call it to crap out on the TPI motors... It is a $475.00 part.... Ask me how I know.....

Been there done that ... LOL

Over all I love my Vortec...

if i remember right the cpi had a problem with the fuel pessure regulator or something like that. other than that ive heard that on early vortecs the plenum (?) was really thin so anytime you took it off you risked breaking it

Hey there... I did have to replace the manifold once due to a broken ear off the EGR... Its a 2 piece plenum... Other than that with care working on it Ive had no problems...
