4L60E Trans Bellhousing
Not sure if this is the correct area for this. My dad has a 1997 Jimmy. Trans went out completely. Lot of damage internally.
I have access to a 1998 trans with a solid bellhousing
What is the difference between a spilt bellhousing and solid bellhousing trans? Can the solid be put in place of the split? If not what needs to be done?
Chevy dealer parts guy said they never knew of the split vs solid as they just get a replacement by the VIN and option code. He stated I need to be sure the option code is the same. Trans out of any 1994 (?) to 2000 plus Blazer, Jimmy, Bravad or even Astro van would work.
