Default 4wd

Here is what I have going on:

The first snow of the year, I engaged my 4WD. It worked fine. I went to disengage when I went back to my truck a few hours later. I heard noise when I pressed the 2WD switch, but it did not switch out.

I checked the fuses, and they are fine. I unhooked and rehooked up the battery, but no change. The 4WD light is lit, but pressing the 2WD, 4 Hi, or 4 Lo switches does not result in any movement or noise.

Looking for any ideas you might have. Thanks.

when you press 2HI does it blink? or does 4HI still lit regardless of what button you press?

It stays lit in 4Hi regardless of what button I press.

yah bad switch i would think. even with everything else broken if you hit any button on the switch that button should atleast be blinking.

try unplugging the TCCM (located in the passanger kick panel) for a few hours. normally that should put the truck back into 2wd.

let us know how that goes.

I pulled the fuses and unhooked the battery cable for about one hour. I put them back in and ... it went back to 2HI and also actuated for me. I must not have unhooked them long enough.

Good to know about the TCCM location. I tried to take that kick panel off but was afraid I was going to tear it up. Any tips on that in case I need to get in there in the future?

Thanks for the assistance.

i just pull mine off by hand. you have to pull off the trim piece that runs parallel to the passanger seat first, the u can take off the kick panel cover. it's all clips and everything should pull off by hand.
