Default Final glitch in heater core replacement

Okay ... I went through the whole heater core replacement ordeal and it works like gangbusters ... plenty heat and no leaks. All the controls and dash goodies work right and I'm on the road again.

But there's two minor problems I can't figure out.

1. The air bag warning light stays on.

2. The thumb buttons on the sterring wheel that control the radio won't work.

I opened the dash again and made sure all connectors are in place and tight, especially in the steering column, then put it back together and they still won't work. The radio is one of those six-CD types that is electronically keyed to the ECU, so could it be I have to calibrate it? It works with the face controls on the radio, but when I try to play or load a CD, it just reads INITIALIZING and won't do anything else.

Can I get advice from some wiser souls?

Year of vehicle? You did drop the steering column-so something must be amiss! As long as you did not mess with any yellow connections, should be ok-Start by going back thru the column, and perhaps dropping it again to see whats up!

make sure while your playing with the connections you have the battery disconnected...would hate to see you hit a yellow connector and have the bag go pop right in your face.
