Default 4wd stopped working suddenly

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to why my 4X4 would have stopped working (95 S10 blazer) I was driving on the beach the other day and when i got back in my truck to leave i noticed that i only had power to the rear wheels even though i had the lever set to 4hi. I had to have my friend tow me back to hard ground so i could drive home. It was working when i drove onto the beach but since then I haven't been able to engage the 4x4. Could it be something eletrical?

Thanks-
Rob

Check out the vacuum lines running from your transfer case to underneath the battery, that is where your problem will be(possibly)...either in the actuator itself or the vacuum lines.

I checked the lines and they seemed okay but the actuator under the battery was torn. Just ordered a new one should be here tomorrow. Thanks alot.

Part came today and I swapped it out this afternoon. That old one was torn really badly. Everything seems to be working just fine now. Thanks so much again, you probably just saved me a very expencive trip to the mechanic.
