Welcome to the forum first off! secondly can we get MORE info regarding your blazer as the 4x4 system changed a few times during the run of this platform.

how far does the cable travel when you pull on it? is the actuator pulling on the cable while its in 2hi? what kind of sound do you hear when its attempting to engage 4x4 ??

It is a 1997 blazer with a 4.3 automatic 4 door 3 button. Need any other info just ask. I could only move the cable when the truck is off butt only 3/4 to an 1.

ok so when its on that cable is pulled then? if so chances are the transfer case switch (vacuum switch) is likely pooched - SAME boat i'm in at this moment but i know my actuator is constantly pulling on the cable in 2hi.

normal movement of the cable is like around 1/2"-1" max so ur in the right movement range at least! btw... should check into this also! 4x4 No Worky.... Maybe this will help.... - https://blazerforum.com/forum/tech-articles-diy-29/4x4-no-worky-maybe-will-help-7180/

then you can do the OBD2 NV233 Diagnostics - https://blazerforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7683 - to see if you have any error codes stored in the TCCM on your ride.

Default vacuum lines

Don't go buying anything till you check the hoses. I thought it had to be my switch on the xfer case. I replaced it only to find out it was the vacuum line from the xfer case switch to the actuator had 2 holes wore in it above the trans. That was a spend y piece of vacuum line. Don't overlook anything.
