I HAVE A 99 BLAZER 4 DR

MY SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT CAME ON AND I REPLACED THE 4X4 SWITCH AND THEN THEY SAID THE CONTROL MODULUE WAS BAD SO I REPLACED THAT AND STILL THE SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT COMES ON BUT NOT RIGHT AWAY AFTER 5 MINS WHEN STARTED. WHEN ENGAGEING 4 WHEEL DRIVE IT WORKS WERID I PUSH AUTO 4 WHEEL IT GOES TO 4 HI AND I PUSH 4 HI IT GOES TO 2HI I PUSH 2 HI IT GOES TO 4 LOW AND VICE VERSA. I CAN GET IT IN AND OUT OF 4 WHEEL DRIVE BUT HAVE TO PUSH THE WRONG BUTTONS. SOMETIMES IT WORKS RIGHT BUT NOT LATELY. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT IN AUTO IN A FEW DAYS BUT HAD IT IN AUTO FOR A WEEK OPR SO AND WORKED FINE TOO. HELP

Hi! I've got a 2000 and it's doing a very similar thing. Have you gotten a resolution to your problem? Please let me know - this is driving me nuts!!!!!!! Thanks! Paul my350tpi@yahoo.com

Hi guys, It could be the transfer case shift motor, a vacuum leak, or most likely the TCCM (transfer case control module.) It is located by the pass side kick panel. 3 10mm nuts hold it on the side. 2 harnesses plug in it. I had the same problem a few months ago.

I bought 2 (not at a time, they're $369.00 a piece!) from an auto parts store that in turn gets them fom a recycler. Both that where sent to me did not work. (for I have autotrak II.) I ended up buying a new one at the dealer. for about $30.00 more. It worked right away.

P.S. do not ever activate the shift motor when removed from the t case. it will permanately destroy it.
