I've been looking for a 6 inch lift for my truck to make some more room under my truck while off roading

But the only lift I can find is the rough country 6 inch lift
but on their website it says i will NOT fit a 2 door
I asked why in customer support and I was told that the angles for my drives shafts will be to steep. Is the any work around for that? Or em I being told it'll just be hard on drive shaft U joints?

The only reason I want a 6 over my 2.5 inch lift that I have already is I'm thinking about the Outfitter Design Dana 30 Front IFS Differential. And I've been told it won't fit with out a 6 inch lift. So that's my first step.

 

As I am not familiar with a lift kit at all; does this 6 inch lift fit a 4 door?
If so, then I too am curious as to why it would not fit a 2 door as I though the suspensions were the same on 4wd 2 and 4 door models.
Hopefully someone that knows jumps in here.

 

yes It does Fit the 4 door, but when I asked customer support about it I was told that "it will have to steep of an angle on the driveshaft and other components" but is it to steep to work in general? or will my truck just be hard on part? and I'll have to replace u joints sooner that's my question lol

 

I read through the info at Rough Country about the two lift kits offered; saw that the 6 inch kit required a rear axle flip...??? Did not find-out what this meant...but perhaps for some reason the 2 doors are not able to flip the rear axle....IDK.

 

I'm pretty sure that a rear axle flip just just flipping the side that the axle is on the leaf spring. Like axle over leaf or axle under leaf I may be wrong tho

 

I was curious enough that youtube showed me what an axle flip is....and you are correct; leaf springs are on top of the axle with the lift kit.
I watched a video of a 6 inch lift install.....cutting and grinding required and lots of it.

Do you think those steep angles on my drive train well wreck anything?

 

I assume the step angle is with regards to the rear driveshaft due to the 2 door Blazer's shorter wheelbase; appears the angle is greater than what Rough County is willing to deal with.

I suspect that the driveshaft's U-joints will not last long or could be that the U-joint at the rear diff will bind and not rotate at all. That would really suck, doing all that work and then have to remove everything!

Guess you could try to mock-up the lift.....see if the U-joint binds.
