You have a fusible link betweenyour alternator and battery on the red wire that ties into your positive battery cable. With the engine running see if you read about 14 volts on the wire coming out of your alternator and then at the positive cable at the battery. If they're different, you probably have a bad or broken connection or a burned fusible link. You have another in the circuit between the alternator and the junction block on you firewall (red wire too).
