Default 95 jimmy no spark

i have a 95 jimmy that was hard starting and now it died
it has the early horizontal tower dist.

i checked the spark and it looked weak at the plug wires
i replaced the coil and now i have no spark
cked all fuses-ok
i have power at the coil
can get no pulse at coil when when cranking
so i changed the distributor/mod
and i still have the same problem
still no spark
the distrib gears were shot on the old one
so it needed it anyway.. so i'm not that upset
this truck has givin me so many good miles so it needs to be fed
every now and then.. lol

what would be my next thing to check?
am i looking at the crank sensor being bad?
how do i check that?
and how hard is it to change that sensor if it is bad?
do i have to take the crank pully off
to get to it?
thanks for any help or direction

If you dont have spark then i would suspect a faulty crank sensor... do you have a check engine light on?

no check engine light on
i'm looking how buried that sensor is
i'm wondering if that pully has to come off or not?

not sure on a 95, most likey you can remove the sensor by removing a hold down bolt, but poke your head around the crank pully and if you can see the sensor you most likley can take out the hold down bolt and pull it out. it should be a 3 wire connector

i can take a pic
how could it of run like this?
i cant find any wires that go to it
i have a new sensor and i see exactly how it
fits into the side of the timing cover and the bolt and sensor are gone???
no wires or plug in sight??
this makes no sense and now i dont know what the h to do???
i will have to look for the plug somewhere?????

if their is a hole their should be wires somwhere down there.... a pic wouldnt hurt...

Keep looking and see what you find. you might have to jack the front of the vehicle up and crawl under it to see the connector (or whats left of it)

i don't have a cam sensor in the distrib
and it seems like i don't have a crank sensor either???
i'm starting to think maybe its a fuseable link
or ignition switch.
what makes it confusing is i have an earlier truck and
it seems not to have these things that newer trucks seem to have??
and even the testing procedures are hard to figure out for me...
