95 S10 LS, 2wd

My truck recently began having intermittentent grinding of its gears at random times, speeds and conditions. The clutch is 1.5 yrs. old w/ ca. 25k, clutch fluid not leaking...

Had truck externally examined and test driven by mechanic: rear transmission seal is beginning to leak, but bearings appeared tight--- will be replacing the seal. Fluid level was not low, but toped off regardless. Very little metal on plug, fluid also had good clear color and no bad smell. Transmission mount was dead and bought new. Will be replacing ASAP.

I was advised that the synchronizers could be going out, but not for sure. Could the forum please add items to check to diagnose... I know that rebuilding that beast is a nightmare and it is NOT in my budget.

Transmission mount has been replaced and truck shfts smotther, but the grinding still happens in 2nd and 3rd... any suggestions?

Did you ever get this diagnosed/repaired? Mine is making a grinding noise in 1st - 3rd gear. Trying to find a '95 S10 2wd 4.3L 5-speed at the salvage yard is impossible so I'm afraid of the repair costs...

Trans issue not completely solved, bumping thread. Getting the mount done helped for a while.

NEW PROBLEMS:
1. not having much luck finding info about synchronizer replacements... any assist out here?
2. Looking for recommendation for replacement clutch... bad shifting now and loud squealing when shifting gears. Getting very difficult to get into gear. I do use my s10 to pull a enclosed 6'x12' trailer for various things...

Now I have to run back to thank swartkk for the lindertech referral for my CPI!
