Default Manual Transmission in a V8 Swap?

So my plans is to put a Chevy 305 V8 into my S10 Blazer this upcoming summer. I know the majority of what I want to do but I would really love to keep it a manual. I've been told that that the only way to do it is a 700R4 or a Turbo 350, both of them being automatic transmissions. Any there any manual transmissions that work well in a V8 swap in a S10 Blazer?

There is no reason why you couldn't stay with a manual transmission. If you have the 4.3L right now, your current manual transmission will bolt up to the v8. If you have the 2.8L, you'll have to get a different manual transmission.

If you are 4wd, that complicates things, but it is definitely not out of the realm of possibility.

I have the 2.8L 4X4. Thats why everyone I have talked told me to forget it and just go with a automatic. So what one would I need for the 4X4 option and with a V8?

You could find an NV4500 with NP241 from a 93 or newer fullsize truck to drop in behind the V8. It would definitely be strong enough to handle the v8!

Will that transmission fit in without a lot of floor board modifacation? I really don't want to hack up my floor board too bad.

Also, I have Heard that I'm going to have to punch in my firewall when ido the v8 swap to fit the distribator, is that true and how hard is that going to be?

Thanks,
Zachary green.
