Default Manual transmission lube

I have a 02 blazer with the 5 speed transmission, the dealer tells me it takes syncromesh lube at 15 dollars a quart. anyone know of a cheaper substitute or where I can get it for less than the dealer sales it for?

Get what you want, however even @ $15 per quart it is cheaper then rebuilding your tranny due to a failure cuased by a cheaper grade of lubricant. Tranny's are the one part of a truck that take the most abuse and get the least maintenance. spend the money on the good stuff, you;ll be money ahead in the long run.

Go to any parts store and ask them, its about $7 a quart and you need 2.2 quarts if your empty. You MUST use synchromesh.

Thank you. I will have to get the local parts places to order it. None here carry it as there has been no demand for it.
