Default 95 randomly stutters and dies

ok my blazer works fine most of the time then all of sudden when im slowing down and coming to a stop sign or light it will shake/stutter then shut off. all lights on the dash light up and stay lite. steering wheel locks. wait like 10-15 minutes before it will start up again. bought it with 140,000 now has 190,000. battery is newish, fuel pump is newish, PCM is new. right before it shuts off the oil pressure gauge will jump up and down several times. i have a check engine light but it is for trans shift solenoid 1,2... could that be the issue? also my ABS light is on... any ideas would help me a lot. thanks

If it's your TCC solenoid that can cause the engine stall while slowing. But that's all I know. We'll see if someone else chimes in.

ok now my blazer wont start unless i press the gas pedal to the floor and then when the engine is on it is a violent idle and sounds like it is dying. the oil pressure gage goes nuts. when i shut the engine off, it shuts off hard. i dont know what the hell is wrong with thing now. i have an OBD II scanner and it wont even set up a link with the PCM of the blazer.

where is your computer ?
if its under the hood its obd II. if not its under the passenger seat and its obd I and you need a real scanner. if you search using tcc you might find answers. but i recomend buying a chilton manual $20.00 its worth it

A '95 is going to be ODBI with an OBDII style connector.
Where did you get the replacement PCM from? Is is used or rebuilt? Check the connectors and ensure that none of the pins are bent or dirty.
The TCC could be causing the stalling, but not the engine running issues.
Need to check the simple things: is fuel pressue good, how is the spark looking. Also check that EGR valve for carbon. That thing is a royal PITA. With the high miles on this vehicle, unless the engine has been apart, there is going to be alot of carbon in those heads and pistons.

My '95 Blazer went 215k before I sold it, so yours still has life in it.

turns out it was the EGR valve. got it replaced and all is good, for now.

im going to replace the Shift Solenoid soon to hopefully elimited the stallling issue that happens every now and then when im slowing down and coming to a stop. unless the EGR valve had something to do with that..

EDIT: EGR was only cleaned out, NOT replaced.

Now i have a very strong and abundent smell of Gas when engine is running.... any ideas?

You really have to get the fuel pressure & leak down checked. >55psi key-on/engine-off & the system should remain above 50psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off.

hey everyone, I'm new here, I am having the same basic problem, my Blazer is sputtering to a stall and I know nothing of mechanics i see the EGR valve coming up alot, is this something I can clean out without any know-how bottom line is it does this after it hits about the 170 degree point. My Blazer has under 90k and I'm broke. any other easy checks/fixes that I can try while I wait to have some money, I hate taking the altima camping, it looks stupid, any help is appreciated
