Default 95 Transmission Question

Can you swap the tail section from a 2wd to a 4x4 case?

The answer is yes. Along with the removal of the tail housing from the 2wd trans, you will have to swap the tail shaft as well. Since the tail shaft cannot be removed from the back of the transmission, it has to come out the front, requiring everything else in the transmission to be removed out the front... Not the easiest thing to do.

Default Thanks

The original trans case was cracked at the bottom. I have removed these components once so I have a good tail spline. The replacement trans fluid was not so much red as black so I keeping my fingers crossed that this case is good. I'm getting a second used trans as well for my 95 4x4 as a later replacement. Thanks again.
