96 blazer with bad alternator

well i am just wondering is it to easy to replace the alternator and what do u have to do to get the alternator off?

[ol][*]IMPORTANT: Disconnect the battery![*]Loosen the belt tensioner and gently hang the belt to the side, so you don`t have to worry about putting it back in place.[*]Unplug the alternator from the battery.[*]Unscrew the bolt in the center of the alternator, and it should come right off.[/ol]Installation is the reverse of removal. You can probably do it in about an hour.

Really is nothing to it. General procautions and then just look at it. Comes right apart.One trick to make it easier to reinstall is to push back on the steel sleeve to open up the lower clearance. If you do not do this, it could be tight getting the alt back in.

One thing to add make sure your battery is charged before using the new alternator otherwise supposedly the overheat on there first run.

I have the battery on a charger right now to make sure its ready for tomorrow. Thanks for the advice
