Default 96 blazer gas leak

We just replaced the fuel pump. Fuel filter needs to be replaced, but I doubt that's the problem. Gas cap is fine. Problem is, the underside of our fuel tank and the first strap holding it up is wet. Hubby went to look at it and cannot figure out where the gas is leaking from. None of the hoses are wet, either. What could it be? It doesn't leak horribly, but he put 1/2 a tank of gas in it this morning, drive 24 miles and it died from being out of gas when he got home. HELP!!!

Is the gas tank a steel on or plastic one, sounds more like you've got a hole in the tank.

Did you put new 0-rings where the lines hook to the pump?

1/2 tank of gas for 24 miles=a bleeder, or a potential fire ball if it's leaking that much! Stop driving it until you can figure it out! Are you smelling fuel outside the truck? Is it possible some one stole the gas? If not then that thing has safety issues.

make sure the fittings are fully pushed onto the metal lines of the sending unit, also make sure the o-rings are in good shape
