It seems that my AC is always on. I can turn the setting to hot and it will blow hot air and turn it to cold it will be really cold. So know matter what setting I have it set to it seems that the AC is always on.
Any suggestions??

can you confirm this by checking if the AC clutch is engaged at all times?

My 97 blazer has these seven options to choose from.
1 MAX AC
2 AC
3 head/feet
4 head
5 feet
6 windshield/feet
7 windshield
It used to turn on the AC on all but options 4 and 5 which is head or feet everything else would turn it on So I got tired of that and figured out which cable turns on the AC and rerouted it through a switch that I placed beside the blower fan control wheel Now I can use all of the above options and the AC will only turn on if I flip the switch that I built in
I think it is the manufacturer doing that for extra safety defrost the windows or something AND so that all these Blazers out there eat more gas
If you want I can post a picture of how it looks and if you want to do it yourself I can provide you with the instructions on which wire to direct through the switch Its pretty simple actually
Hope this helps

Thanks guys for the info. KA3AX seems to be bang on with this problem. I will check it out when the blazer return from its annual road trip.
Thanks again
